Ezekiel 40:3-49

3So He brought me there; and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of abronze, with a bthread of flax and a cmeasuring

Measurements Relating to the Temple

6Then he went to the gate which faced oeast, went up its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one rod

7The rguardroom was one rod long and one rod wide; and there were five cubits between the guardrooms. And the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate

facing inward was one rod.
8Then he measured the porch of the gate

9And he measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and its side pillars, two cubits. And the porch of the gate was

10The guardrooms of the gate toward the east numbered three on each side; the three of them had the same measurement. The side pillars also had the same measurement on each side. 11And he measured the width of the

gateway, ten cubits, and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.
12There was a

barrier wall one cubit wide in front of the guardrooms on each side; and the guardrooms were six cubits square on each side.
13And he measured the gate from the roof of the one guardroom to the roof of the other, a width of twenty-five cubits, from one door to the door opposite. 14He made the side pillars sixty cubits high; the gate extended all around to the side pillar of the xcourtyard. 15And from the front of the entrance gate to the front of the inner porch of the gate was fifty cubits. 16And there were

zshuttered windows looking toward the guardrooms, and toward their side pillars within the gate all around, and likewise for the porches. And there were windows all around inside; and on each side pillar were aapalm tree decorations.

17 Then he brought me into the abouter courtyard, and behold, there were acchambers and a stone pavement made for the courtyard all around; thirty chambers

18And the pavement (that is, the lower pavement) was by the

19Then he measured the width from the front of the aflower gate to the front of the exterior of the inner courtyard, a aghundred cubits on the east and on the north.

47He measured the courtyard, a perfect square, a dmhundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide; and the altar was in front of the

48 Then he brought me to the doporch of the

2The width of the entrance was ten cubits and the

the length of the sanctuary, dzforty cubits, and the width, eatwenty cubits.
3Then he went

4And he measured its length, eetwenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the efsanctuary; and he said to me, “This is the egMost Holy Place.”

5 Then he measured the wall of the

7And the side chambers surrounding the temple were wider at each successive story. Because the epstructure surrounding the temple went upward by stages on all sides of the temple, for that reason the width of the temple increased as it went higher; and so one went up from the lowest story to the highest by way of the

second story.
8I saw also that the house had a raised

9The

Chambers of the Temple

1 Then he hebrought me out into the hfouter courtyard, the way hgtoward the north; and he brought me to the hhchamber which was opposite the hiseparate area and opposite the hjbuilding toward the north. 2Along the length, which was a hkhundred

3Opposite the hmtwenty cubits which belonged to the inner courtyard, and opposite the hnstone pavement which belonged to the outer courtyard, was

gallery in three stories.
4In front of the hrchambers was an inner passage ten cubits wide, a way of one hundred cubits; and their openings were on the north. 5Now the upper chambers were
Lit shorter
smaller because the
Or passageways
,
hugalleries took more space away from them than from the lower and middle ones in the building.
6For they were in hvthree stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courtyards; for that reason the upper chambers were
Or reduced
set back from the ground upward, more than the lower and middle ones.
7As for the hxouter wall by the side of the chambers, toward the outer courtyard facing the chambers, its length was fifty cubits. 8For the length of the chambers which were in the outer courtyard was fifty cubits; and behold, the length of those facing the main room was a hyhundred cubits. 9And below these chambers was the hzentrance on the east side, as one enters them from the outer courtyard.

10 In the
Lit width
thickness of the ibwall of the courtyard toward the east, facing the icseparate area and facing the building, there were idchambers.
11And the ieway in front of them was like the appearance of the chambers which were on the north; according to their length, so was their width, and all their exits were according to their building plans and openings. 12Corresponding to the openings of the chambers which were toward the south was an opening at the head of the way, the way in front of the ifwall toward the east, as one enters them.

13 Then he said to me, “The north chambers and the south chambers, which are opposite the igseparate area, they are the ihholy chambers where the priests who are iinear to the Lord shall eat the ijmost holy things. There they shall set the most holy things, the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering; for the place is holy. 14When the priests enter, they shall not go out into the outer courtyard from the sanctuary
Lit but there they shall lay
without illaying their imgarments there in which they minister, for they are holy. They shall put on other garments; then they shall approach that which is for the people.”
